ABOUT SERGE
Serge Ignatieff, LL.B., MBA, RCIC
Serge Ignatieff has worked in Canadian immigration since 2017 and has been a licensed Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant since 2020. His experience includes working at an immigration firm, where he was responsible for the complete preparation of client files from the initial stages through to submission, including files for hearings before the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB).
Serge’s experience as an attorney in a foreign jurisdiction includes preparing procedural documents and written legal arguments for submission to courts. He draws on this background in analysing legislation, case law and evidence in his Canadian immigration practice, where he acts in his capacity as an RCIC.
At Lex Nova, Serge assists individuals, families and businesses with Canadian immigration and citizenship matters, including temporary residence, permanent residence, family sponsorship and Quebec immigration procedures. His practice places particular emphasis on previous refusals, Procedural Fairness Letters, reconsideration requests, humanitarian and compassionate applications, and criminal or medical inadmissibility concerns.
Based in Montréal and registered with Quebec’s immigration authorities, Serge pays particular attention to Quebec immigration programs and matters involving people planning to settle or already living in the province.
He examines refusal reasons alongside the original application, addresses discrepancies in previous submissions and identifies the documents needed to support employment, family circumstances and complex immigration histories. Drawing on applicable legislation, regulations, administrative guidance and relevant case law, he helps clients understand their options and prepares written submissions addressing the specific issues in their files.
